With the rapid development of the national economy, the country's demand for energy is increasing. China's oil and gas pipelines have formed an oil and gas official grid bureau that spans the east, west, north and south, covering the whole country and China Unicom overseas.

Oil and gas pipelines are the country's energy arteries, and ensuring the safety of oil and gas pipelines is an important responsibility of society and enterprises. Due to the flammable and explosive characteristics of pipeline transportation media and the emergence of pipe drilling and oil theft, once an oil and gas pipeline accident occurs, it may endanger the pipeline's safe operation, cause catastrophic accidents such as personal injury and environmental pollution. How to ensure the safety of pipelines with high efficiency and low cost is the top priority at present. UAV systems use modern technology to escort the petroleum and petrochemical industry.

From March 28th to March 30th, the “Oil and Gas Field and Pipeline UAV Technology Application Exchange Conference” was held in Shanghai. Haikang Robotics was invited to participate in this meeting and conducted on-site drone product demonstrations. The in-depth exchanges between man and machine in oil and gas fields and pipeline applications have attracted widespread attention.

At the technical exchange site, representatives of several manufacturers made reports on the actual application of Hikvision robotic drones in oil and gas fields and pipelines, affirming the superior performance and powerful video image processing technology of Hikvision robotic drones. At present, the application of Haikang robot drones in the petroleum and petrochemical industry mainly includes inspection of oil pipelines, survey of landforms along pipelines, emergency inspections of pipeline accidents, and timely detection of oil theft and oil leakage.

Pipeline inspection

In the automatic flight mode, the drone uses the built-in high-definition camera to point at the oil pipeline to be inspected, collects detailed images of the pipeline, and transmits it back to the ground station in real time through wireless long distance. Through the 3G network transmission function, video images can also be transmitted in real time to oil companies' global command centers or corresponding mobile clients. Or take the pipeline situation into high-resolution photos, and import the special software, you can stitch and process the photos to draw a complete aerial survey map of the pipeline. At night or underground pipelines, unmanned aerial cameras can be equipped to implement line inspection.

UAV inspection improves the traditional situation of relying on visual inspection or trekking on foot, and fills the inspection loopholes in pipeline leak areas that people cannot reach.

Surveying landforms

After entering the coordinates at the ground station, the drone will enter the scheduled flight orbit through the ground control station, and it can remotely transmit the landform image of the entire petroleum area remotely. It can provide the landform and surface information in time. Surveying the landform by drone can effectively reduce the work Intensity, which greatly improves work efficiency.

Emergency inspection

UAVs can conduct emergency inspections for oil leakage in pipelines and other situations. Due to their small size and sound, it is difficult for drones to find oil stealers during line inspections. Through on-site testing of drone video shooting technology, from the video returned in real time, the actual situation on the scene can be seen dynamically, and when suspicious people are found, fixed-point circle tracking can be performed. Through drone inspections in high-incidence areas where oil is stolen from pipelines, timely detection of illegal oil theft elements can be provided to ensure the safety of pipeline operations.

System architecture

The overall architecture of the system is as above. The control signals and video before the ground station and the drone are transmitted by microwave. Through the ground station software settings, the drone can be controlled to perform one-button take-off, one-button landing, track flight and other functions. The drone will transmit the captured video transmission back to the ground station in real time, which can be displayed on the ground station. The ground station's built-in SD card can store the video returned by the drone in real time and transmit the video to the central platform for presentation through 4G signals or network cables.

以满足石油行业为目标的无人机系统解决方案, 为保障石油安全尽一份绵薄之力。 Relying on Hikvision's years of technology accumulation in the petroleum industry, Hikvision Robotics has created a video image processing as the core, product safety as the cornerstone, and intelligent application-oriented for oil users. It conducts inspections and emergency rescue commands from fixed areas of the oil field. To the fault inspection of facilities such as oil depots, oil wells, pipelines, etc., to meet the user's multi-scenario application needs, to meet the unmanned aerial vehicle system solutions targeted by the oil industry, and make a small contribution to ensuring oil safety.
